China's Fuel Cell Vehicle Market to Blow Up Soon

Date:2017-11-09 17:11:30

China's Fuel Cell Vehicle Market to Blow Up Soon
By GBF ASIA Committee

The global Fuel Cell Vehicle (FCV) market is on the eve of a boom, as predicted by Research and Markets’, whose latest report shows that more than 22.2 million FCV will be sold or leased worldwide by 2032, generating $1.1 trillion revenues for the global auto industry, which is followed by Information Trends’ prediction that by 2050 FCV will become the fastest-growing segment of the global auto market.

It seems that the world is ready to embrace the rise of FCVs, and so is China.

China Policy Supports to Buy FCV
China is now preparing to put the brakes on the production and sales of gasoline and diesel cars. Meanwhile, it has been stipulated in this year’s latest subsidy policy that buyers of FCVs will be offered a subsidy of RMB 200-500 thousand depending on the type of the vehicle.

Build More Hydrogen Filling Stations
However, it’s very hard to realize the wide use of FCVs without conveniently accessible hydrogen fueling stations, so the government has issued some documents like the Energy Conservation & New Energy Vehicle Industry Development Plan (2012-2020), the National Strategic Development Plan for Emerging Industries During the 13th Five-Year Period, Made in China 2025, and etc to repeatedly underlined the importance of hydrogen filling station construction

Moreover, to encourage enterprises to build hydrogen filling stations, central government will provide an RMB 4 million subsidy to each project.

China’s first hybrid filling station of hydrogen and gasoline has been scheduled to break ground this November in Guangdong Province and finished next June. This innovative operating model of hybrid filling stations is a solution specifically designed to help China go through the transition from the gasoline automobile dominated age to the upcoming era for new energy vehicles.

Domestic and Oversea Companies Charging Into Chinese Market
Anticipating the arrival of a burgeoning market, oversea and domestic companies are vying to announce their FCV strategies in China. This October Toyota officially launched a long-term market test of its Mirai (FCV) to access China’s market potentials, while domestic top brands like Yutong, Zhongtong Bus, BYD, King Long, BAIC Group, etc, are also feeling their way in this new sector.

If you are also interested in China’s FCV market and have some state-of-the-art fuel cells or FCVs to launch in China, then please don’t miss Asia (Guangzhou) Battery Sourcing Fair 2018 (GBF ASIA 2018), which has added new energy vehicles to its display for the first time and is expected to attract worldwide quality buyers from leading automobile brands! For more details about GBF ASIA 2018, pls feel free to contact the organizing committee through Aileen2017@yeah.net
